The scientific approach

All ontalents products are based on well-founded and scientifically proven fundaments, which distinguishes them from their competitors on the market for potential analysis tests. The research-based conclusions and the high validity of our test results form ontalent’s fundament for a professional potential analysis. This is supported by psychological research and academic findings in the areas of individual and personnel development.

EDWARDS (1957, Technics of Attitude Scale Construction). THURNSTONE (1929, The Measurement of Attitude) and KERLINGER (1973, Foundation of Behavioral Research), supported by our research into the field of methodological assessment of behavioural dispositions, form the basis for our potential assessment techniques.

MURRAY’s (1938, Exploration in Personality) theories on personality are the psychological quintessence as well as the bases for the possibility of a systemic approach to potential assessment.

The scientific development of CAPTain itself draws on the ingenious initial layout by the Finnish psychologist Dr. Ulla Petäjävaara, and the ongoing support by Univ. Prof. Dr. Hunter MABON (Department of Business Administration, University of Stockholm). Univ. Prof. Dr. Hugo SCHMALE (Head of the Department for Work-, Company- and Environmental Psychology at the University of Hamburg) has established CAPTain in the German speaking countries.

Since its foundation, ontalents possesses its own psychological and scientific research- and development department in cooperation with the CNT companies. Thus, ongoing statistical analysis of existing data, evaluations, new and further developments as well as systematic improvements with regards to user-friendliness take place in situ and guarantee that our products are always ‘state of the art’ in every sense.
